Upon the successful completion of this examination, the individual becomes a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)

The Health Information Management professional contributes to the health care needs of the individual and the community, and is recognized as a key team member in the medical field. The R.H.I.A. is a qualified professional manager who develops patient information systems, participates in research, and establishes a data base for health care statistics to promote and ensure high-quality patient care. On a daily basis, R.H.I.A. is responsible for processing health information, coding information for reimbursement purposes and protecting the patient's right to confidentiality.
