The program was approved by the Florida Board of Regents in July 1978, to grant the degree of Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management. The Health Information Management Program is accreditsed by the Committee on Accreditation of Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the Council on Education of the American Health Information Management Association. Graduates are eligible to apply to write the national certification examination. Upon the successful completion of this examination, the individual becomes a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA).
