Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Curriculum Model for Specialty Track: Nursing Administration

Note: A moratorium has been placed on admissions to the Nursing Administration Track effective Fall 2010.

This track educates the nurse administrator of today. Graduates will work in a constantly evolving environment of health care management. They will be prepared in the entire spectrum of finance, organizational theory, change management, human resource management and development, and strategic planning. The Nursing Administration track places emphasis on the management principles and organizational processes related to the delivery of health care to client systems. Students will learn to apply their management skills through an intensive practicum under the guidance of a nurse administrator.

The track consists of 42 credits of study at the graduate level. The program of study can be completed in 2 –3 semesters. The track assists in the preparation for the certification exam in nursing administration offered by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Students: Please see a nursing advisor to determine your plan of study.
