Overview of Fieldwork and Fieldwork Schedules

Clinical affiliations, also known as fieldwork are an integral part of the occupational therapy curriculum. There are two types of fieldwork, Level I and Level II. The overall purpose of Level I fieldwork is to introduce the student to the occupational therapy treatment environment. Level II fieldwork allows the student the opportunity to begin practicing occupational therapy in a supervised setting. Students are required to complete a minimum of 6 months of full time Level II fieldwork. All clinical affiliations are scheduled through the Clinical Education Coordinator, Dr. Agnes A. Sheffey.
