Clinical/Fieldwork

Information | Prerequisites | Forms | Educators

Clinical affiliations, also known as fieldwork, are an integral part of the Occupational Therapy (OT) curriculum. There are two types of fieldwork, Level I and Level II. The overall purpose of Level I fieldwork is to introduce the student to the occupational therapy treatment environment. Level II fieldwork allows the student the opportunity to begin practicing occupational therapy in a supervised setting. Students are required to complete a minimum of six (6) months of full-time Level II fieldwork. All clinical affiliations are scheduled through the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator, Dr. Alma R. Abdel-Moty (abdela@fiu.edu).
