Policies & Procedures

The FIU Occupational Therapy (OT) Department’s policy on Equitable Treatment is in accordance with the University’s policy published in the Student Handbook which states that:

"Students are expected to conduct themselves in a manner which exemplifies respect for people of all races, religions, and ethnic groups, and to adhere to one's personal values without duly imposing them on others.

Students shall not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, creed, age, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, religion, or national origin. Students are entitled to work and study in an atmosphere free from unsolicited and unwelcome sexual overtones or innuendoes."

FIU Occupational Therapy students are expected to adhere to all rules published by the University Graduate School.

In addition, FIU OT students are expected to familiarize themselves and abide by the rules published in the OT Student Handbook, OT Student Fieldwork Manual (download below), and the American Occupational Therapy Association code of ethics.
