Past research areas have included prostitution and HIV risk as well as prevention of viral hepatitis in high risk groups.
Within the last five years she has broadened her research focus to include issues of disability in the context of therapy generally and Occupational Therapy specifically. Her current research interests include the development, implementation, and evaluation of community based occupational therapy services for adolescents in foster care and inmates in the Florida Corrections system. She is also collaborating with disability scholars at the University of Illinois at Chicago to develop a qualitative study of disability, rape, and social service needs.
