
Ora L. Strickland
PhD, DSc (Hon.), RN, FAAN
Dr. Strickland serves as the Dean of the Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing and Health Sciences at FIU. She is one of the original founders of the National Institute of Nursing Research, where her research includes evidence-based practice related to health, genetics and quantitative measurement. Dr. Strickland has made research innovations in the field of measurement through her textbooks, articles and application of measurement in both nursing practice and nursing research across healthcare disciplines including medicine, nursing, psychology, sociology, genetics and epidemiology. She is a grant reviewer for the NIH and has secured millions of dollars in funding to support her initiatives.
