COVID Acts of Kindness

Dear Faculty, Staff, Students and Alumni,

With the constantly changing COVID-19 situation, we recognize this is an unprecedented time filled with uncertainty. But we are here to support you, and we will get through this together.
Words fall short to express how extremely proud I am of our FIU community as we continue to adapt. Your patience, flexibility and commitment to healthcare education is more evident than ever and not going unnoticed.
We recognize the extra effort everyone is making to adjust and appreciate all you are doing.
From every student at home undeterred on their academic march toward their goals as a healthcare provider, to every educator embracing innovative means to pass along their knowledge and experiences -- we applaud each of you for quickly moving into action to alter your routines to press on in this new learning landscape.
To our alumni, colleagues and caregivers on the frontlines, we thank you for going above and beyond the call of duty. Caring and compassion have always been core values of this College, but our alumni prove that so too are bravery and perseverance.
Rest assured, we are working with the University to maintain the academic integrity of our educational programs and keep the College operating at peak capacity under these new conditions. To stay informed on updates from the University regarding operations and other resources, visit the dedicated FIU Coronavirus Updates page.
If you have personal stories and experiences you’d like to share about combatting COVID-19 and helping others, or know of someone who is and would like to recognize them for their efforts, please fill out the COVID Acts of Kindness form, and we’ll post some entries on the College’s the College’s Twitter (@FIUNursing) and Facebook (@FIUNursingAndHealthSciences) pages.

Extraordinary times demand extraordinary action, which is what each of you is giving in pursuit of your education or in service to our community. Let us continue to support one another as we face this global health crisis together.
With Sincere Regards,

Ora L. Strickland, PhD, DSc (Hon), RN, FAAN
