Dr. Deborah Krauser earned her MSN from the NWCNHS (2000) and her DNP from Texas Christian University (2015). She began her nursing career working as a RN in trauma at Jackson Memorial Hospital and then as a certified adult nurse practitioner in cardiology at Broward General Medical Center. Subsequently, Dr. Krauser relocated to Texas where she was appointed Director of the Trauma Program at the Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth. In 2018 she moved back to Florida and was appointed Director of the Trauma and Burn Program at the HCA Florida Kendall Hospital.
In 2023 Dr. Krauser was appointed Assistant Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO). In this position she supports the chief nursing officer (CNO) in overseeing the quality, safety, and efficiency of nursing services in the hospital. Her nominator states that Dr. Krauser "helped institute a number of programs while overseeing trauma and burn to decrease overall mortality and increase the quality outcomes of our patients." Some initiatives she implemented were establishing the role of the Trauma Nurse Clinician, developing protocols for pressure injury reduction, instituting a trauma alert system within the hospital, developing guidelines for geriatric trauma, and initiating the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner program.
She has developed and implemented numerous educational programs in trauma related topics for non-trauma nurse clinicians, emergency responders, and ED physicians. In addition, Dr. Krauser collected and disseminated research data for presentations at Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQIP) conferences. As her CNO states, " she is a motivated leader who fosters a culture of professional excellence, professional ethics, and professional effectiveness."
