Student-Centric Learning

FIU Nursing graduates exceptional PhD-prepared nursing leaders poised to improve the health status of diverse patient communities and contribute to the advancement of nursing science locally and globally.

As a doctoral nursing student at FIU, you will pursue individualized courses of study under the mentorship of research-active faculty. You will engage in active, self-directed learning. And you will have opportunities to evaluate existing and new evidence-based nursing practices, contribute to growing scientific knowledge bases, and expand your critical thinking skills to respond to the rapid changes of 21st Century healthcare delivery within complex environments.

Our student-centered teaching philosophy, coupled with the cultural and ethnic diversity of our student body, manifests in a unique doctoral learning experience to develop innovative, creative, compassionate, caring, and evidence-based approaches in every facet of nursing care.
