Below are the step-by-step application processes for the FIU Foreign Educated Physician to BSN/MSN (FEP BSN/MSN) program for foreign educated physicians seeking BSN & MSN degrees.

We strongly urge all prospective students to attend an Information Session via Zoom, followed by an individual advising appointment. Call 305-348-7703 and follow the prompts to your program of interest to register.

Bring copies of all transcripts to the advising appointment for evaluation of deficiencies in state-mandated requirements and/or nursing prerequisites.

Steps for a foreign educated physician seeking a BSN degree

  • Step 1: Meet Requirements
    • Encouraged to Meet with an FEP BSN to MSN Advisor
    • Make an appointment (in person or by phone) with the FEP BSN to MSN Advisor or call 305-348-7703 to register to attend an Information Session.
    • Bring copies of all unofficial transcripts (from all schools) to your advisement appointment. Our advisors will review your transcripts to determine track eligibility and prerequisite completion.
  • Step 2: Complete Prerequisites

Successful completion of ALL prerequisites from a regionally accredited institution in the U.S. no later than the Spring term of the year in which you are applying for AND have been completed within the last 10 years. If older than 10 years, they must be repeated. However, applicants may ONLY have up to two non-science prerequisites in progress at the time of application submission, none of which can be science courses. All science prerequisites must be finished by the time the application is submitted.
