Jon Bowskill

An experienced corrective exercise specialist, Jon works with professional athletes and clients from around the world, to resolve mechanical issues, speed up recovery from injury and enable a return to high performance.

Jon is driven by a philosophy for interlinked health strategies that work seamlessly alongside medical care and founded The Bowskill Clinic, based on this principle, in London in 2009. He applies a focus on movement and function; nutrition and lifestyle; mindset and resilience. His aim is always to provide clients with the best technical advice, coaching and support necessary to speed up healing and remain fit and healthy, in body and mind.

For many years, he has worked to advance progress in golf conditioning and rehabilitation. Today, he works with many top-ranked golfers on the PGA, European Tour and Ladies European Tour, to help manage injury and optimise their performance.

A published contributor and conference speaker, he is regularly called upon by leading organisations and medical practitioners to provide consultancy, write articles and present on the evolution and application of exercise and movement to enhance rehabilitation.

Areas of specialism include:

  • Multidisciplinary management of spinal pathologies

  • The application of sagittal balance in rehabilitation and performance using ultra low dose slot beam linear CT

  • Integration of VICON motion capture into the understanding of lower limb mechanics in the golf swing

  • Application of robotic resistance training in conditioning and elite sport

  • Athletic training theory and advanced programme design for return to play

  • Strategic high-performance management in professional golf

  • Therapeutic application of technology to improve everyday activity and reduce sedentary lifestyle related diseases

    Jon holds multiple professional accreditations and is a CHEK Institute Level 4 Practitioner and former CHEK Faculty member; he has been double-certified by the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Council on Exercise; and holds a BA (Hons.) degree in Sports Exercise - Physical Education.

    A keen triathlete, mountain biker and adventurer, Jon has completed: IRONMAN Nice-France four times; IRONMAN 70.3 in Lanzarote; and in 2013, Jon completed the MARATHON DES SABLES - amulti-day ‘ultra-marathon’ in the Sahara Desert.
