Athletic Training

Aspiring healthcare professionals with a passion for high activity can find a rewarding career as an athletic trainer. These “first responders on the field” are specialty practitioners who collaborate as part of an integrated, interprofessional healthcare team to help patients and clients achieve optimal physical performance through prevention and treatment.

FIU Athletic Training is shaping an emerging generation of athletic trainers for an evolving population through its acclaimed Master of Science in Athletic Training program and newly established Doctor of Athletic Training program – the first in the Southeast U.S.

We are recruiting a new class of health professionals to monitor and embrace the latest evidence-based medical breakthroughs and conduct research to develop new treatments that raise the standards of care and performance.

As one of the six departments of the Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing & Health Sciences, FIU Athletic Training promotes effective interprofessional collaboration across fields, advanced research in healthcare delivery and evidence-based practice, as well as significant engagement with communities and partners around the world.
