The FIU Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing & Health Sciences (NWCNHS) Dean’s Alumni Advisory Board serves as an extension of the FIU Alumni Association and acts as the College’s external voice. Board members play a vital role as ambassadors, leveraging their expertise, advocacy, and support to advance the College’s mission and impact in healthcare education and practice.
Guided by the strategic priorities of NWCNHS, Advisory Board members are key partners in fostering a culture of pride, engagement, and professional excellence. Through their involvement, they champion the College’s vision, strengthen alumni connections, and elevate the reputation of NWCNHS among the broader healthcare and academic communities.
The Advisory Board focuses on three core areas: Engagement, Service, and Development.
Engagement
Support NWCNHS’s alumni and community engagement efforts through signature events such as Panther Alumni Week (PAW), signature student events, healthcare leadership series, networking events, and professional development opportunities for students and graduates.
Service
Participate in and promote key initiatives such as the mentorship program, student recruitment efforts, career development programs, and experiential learning opportunities that connect students with industry leaders.
Development
Support the College’s advancement efforts by securing financial contributions, fostering partnerships, and promoting sponsorship opportunities that enhance NWCNHS programs, research, and student success.
Eligibility
- Must be an alumnus/alumna of FIU NWCNHS.
- Demonstrate interest and commitment to the mission and vision of the College.
- Willingness to contribute time, expertise, and resources to support the success of FIU NWCNHS and its students.
