Set the tone for the student body, fellow student leaders, and peers across the Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing & Health Sciences.
The Nursing & Health Sciences Student Council serves as the official voice of the student body and acts as a bridge between students, faculty, staff, and the Dean’s Office. This council provides opportunities to lead with purpose, strengthen community, and advocate for student success across all disciplines—nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, athletic training, health services administration, and communication sciences and disorders.
Student Council members help shape the future of the College by enhancing student life, organizing signature events, and working closely with leadership on initiatives that uplift and unify our diverse student community.
Desired Qualifications
- Commitment to advancing the mission and vision of the Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing & Health Sciences
- Passion for student advocacy, peer engagement, and service
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to contribute valuable insight to college-wide initiatives and represent your peers with integrity
- Be a team player who is proactive and solutions-oriented
- Able to dedicate approximately 4–5 hours per week to Student Council responsibilities
- Willingness to collaborate with fellow council members and college leadership to accomplish shared goals
Minimum Requirements
- Maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher
- Be enrolled full-time (minimum 12 credit hours) in an undergraduate or graduate program within NWCNHS
- Have completed at least one semester at Florida International University
