NursingCAS

The FIU Nurse Anesthesia Program in the abundance of caution will not be conducting face to face interviews this year. All applicants who are invited for an interview will receive a Zoom invite for their specific time. Thank you again for considering the FIU Nurse Anesthesia Program.
Due to the GRE testing centers being temporarily closed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Nurse Anesthetist Practice will be accepting applications without the GRE scores. The application deadline has been extended to June 1st, 2020. Please note that you are still required to take the GRE exam. Once the testing centers reopen, please communicate to us via email at guardiam@fiu.edu the date you will be taking the GRE Exam. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us at 305-348-7747 or via email at guardiam@fiu.edu. Please continue to check our website for further updates. Thank you!

Students begin the program once a year, starting in the Spring semester. The NursingCAS and the FIU Graduate Admissions Application open in January of every year. Only applications marked complete by the application deadline of June 1st will be reviewed and considered.

Specific instructions accompany the NursingCAS DNP Anesthesia Program Application. These instructions MUST be followed carefully to have the application processed correctly.

Please note that you must (1) complete the NursingCAS application AND (2) the FIU Graduate Admissions Application.

Application materials will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee to identify candidates who will advance to the next stage and be invited to attend an Information & Interview session. The Admissions Committee will make the final determination for acceptance into the program after the interview.

Note: Transfer and international students must meet additional university requirements before proceeding with an application. Visit the Graduate Nursing Admissions page and FIU Graduate School website for details.

Note for Foreign-Educated Physicians

We frequently receive inquiries from physicians trained in another country and not practicing in the U.S. about enrolling in the FIU Nurse Anesthetist program. Because Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) certification and Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) licensure requires having an RN license, physician applicants do not qualify.
