CARE Center

The Collaborative Advanced Rehabilitation/Research Education (CARE) provides advanced rehabilitation resources and techniques to improve rehabilitation research methods with significant impact on the life quality of individuals with disabilities. CARE embodies the interdisciplinary focus, evidence-based practice, and holistic approach to patient care that lies at the heart of the college’s mission and vision. Located on the fourth floor of the Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing & Health Sciences (NWCNHS) building (AHC-3), the flexible modular laboratories of the CARE include the following:

Core Research Lab

  • Driving Simulator Lab

Education Lab

  • Pediatric Lab
  • Rehabilitation Lab
  • Speech & Language Skill Lab
  • Therapeutic Activities Lab
  • Neuro-musculoskeletal Lab

The flexible modular laboratories of the CARE are broadly classified into two groups, “Core Research Lab” and “Education Lab”. The “Core research lab” focuses on developing advanced rehabilitation approaches/technologies for people who have physical/mental disabilities in order to enhance their quality of life. The Education lab provides a variety of uses and real-world rehabilitation training scenarios for College’s students of Physical Therapy, occupational Therapy, Communication Sciences and Disorders, and Athletic Training Education Departments.
