Fall Class of 2024, we are excited to share the details of your upcoming Nursing Pinning Ceremony. Family and friends, nursing faculty and staff, clinical partners and other university members will be joining together to honor you on this special day. We look forward to celebrating your transition into professional practice.
The Pinning Ceremony is scheduled for Friday, December 13, 2024 at 2:30 PM. Registration for this event is Now Open. Kindly note that the name you provide during registration will be used for the announcement as you are called on stage.
Students who wish to attend the ceremony must confirm their attendance via the Student Registration Form by September 26th, 2024. This is also the last day to order your nursing pin.
The ceremony is a proud nursing tradition dated as far back as the time of the Crusades and continued in modern times through the accomplishments of Florence Nightingale. Designed to honor your accomplishment in completing the Baccalaureate Nursing Program, our pin is a treasured symbol of the education, dedication, and successes of nursing graduates - a pin often worn by our graduates throughout their nursing careers. With only a lamp to light her way during the Crimean War, Ms. Florence Nightingale spent endless hours tending to the wounded soldiers. As a tribute to Florence Nightingale's dedication to nursing, the lighting of the lamp will be a tradition of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences' Pinning Ceremony.
