ATTENTION STUDENTS
The ceremony is a proud nursing tradition dated as far back as the time of the Crusades and continued in modern times through the accomplishments of Florence Nightingale. Designed to honor your accomplishment in completing the Baccalaureate Nursing Program, our pin is a treasured symbol of the education, dedication, and successes of nursing graduates - a pin often worn by our graduates throughout their nursing careers. With only a lamp to light her way during the Crimean War, Ms. Florence Nightingale spent endless hours tending to the wounded soldiers. As a tribute to Florence Nightingale's dedication to nursing, the lighting of the lamp will be a tradition of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences Pinning Ceremony.
