FIU’s Nurse Educator program is limited enrollment and admission is highly COMPETITIVE.

Applicants may inquire about info session availability OR make an appointment with an FIU Graduate Nursing Advisor for assistance with the application process (see Advising page).

Admissions Requirements

Transfer & International Students

Transfer and international students must meet additional university requirements before proceeding with an application. Visit the FIU Graduate School website for details.

In addition to the program admission requirements, graduates with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from a foreign nursing school must: 

  • Comply with all International Student requirements as per FIU’s International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS).
  • Meet the University Graduate School English-language proficiency requirements (TOEFL, IELTS, AA or BA from a U.S. school) if native language is not English.
    • TOEFL examination requirement - a score of 550 or higher on the written examination or 213 or higher on the computerized examination.
    • IELTS examination requirement - a score of 6.5 or higher.
  • Obtain a Florida RN license prior to starting any clinical nursing courses.
