The Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing and Health Sciences (NWCNHS) Doctoral Nursing Department and Doctoral Nursing students thank you for your interest in participating in the 2025 Doctoral student Research Colloquium entitled "Leveling the Playing Field in Health Disparities 2025 Doctoral student Research Colloquium". The Colloquium is free and open to the public, especially for Graduate/Doctoral students.
About the Colloquium
The 2025 Doctoral Student Research Colloquium focuses on the design and conduct of innovative, creative, cost-effective, patient-focused interventions, including technology to improve the health of diverse and underserved people, families, and communities. According to the NIH, by the year 2060, it is projected that nearly half the US population will be comprised of people from racial and/or ethnic minority populations. Diverse populations that experience health disparities are more likely to have poorer physical health, mental health, and overall quality of life. This is a serious public health and societal concern.
Nursing scholars in health care are essential for achieving individual and system-wide interventions that uphold and promote the highest ethical standards for the delivery of appropriate healthcare services and interventions. Nursing research is needed to target the improvement of health disparities in diverse and underserved populations.
