Curriculum Core Areas
The MHSA program’s 48-credit curriculum is organized into three core areas to help you build skills and prepare for leadership in healthcare:
- Foundation Courses
- Health Services Administration Core Courses
- Integrative Coursework

MHSA Culminating Experiences
The MHSA program offers two culminating experiences in your final semester. You can choose between HSA6977 – Master’s Research Project, which investigates a real-world healthcare challenge, or HSA6875 – Administrative Residency, which provides hands-on experience in a healthcare organization.
Both options are electives, allowing you to select the experience that best aligns with your interests and career goals.
When you enter the MHSA program, you’ll sign an Automatic Registration Agreement to indicate your preferred culminating experience.
If you choose the Administrative Residency, you’ll also need to complete a separate application, due two semesters before your final term.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
As part of the MHSA curriculum, you’ll earn a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification at no extra cost. This nationally recognized credential gives you a competitive edge from day one.
Lean Six Sigma is a proven problem-solving method used by leading healthcare organizations to reduce waste, cut wait times and improve healthcare quality. As a certified Green Belt, you’ll be prepared to lead real, measurable improvements in healthcare settings.

CAHME Accredited
The MHSA program is accredited by the Commission for Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME), meaning it meets the highest standards in healthcare management education. This ensures a high-quality, rigorous learning experience and gives you an advantage, as employers value graduates from accredited programs.
