Post-Graduate Nurse Practitioner Certificates

A Post-Graduate Nurse Practitioner (NP) Certificate builds upon an existing Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree to expand and enhance the knowledge and skills of the applicant in a specific clinical nursing major to manage the health and care of their patients.

FIU Graduate Nursing offers post-graduate certificate programs in the same clinical specialties as our Nurse Practitioner program tracks:

  • Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner
  • Family Nurse Practitioner
  • Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner
  • Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
  • 32

Credits for Adult and Child tracks

  • 35

    Credits for Psychiatric track

  • 36

    Credits for Family track

Program eligibility is for candidates who already hold an MSN degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program and wish to be nationally certified in another specialty area. Only upon graduation may candidates qualify to sit for the national certification exam in their area of specialty.
