Post-Graduate Nurse Practitioner Certificates

A Post-Graduate Nurse Practitioner (NP) Certificate builds upon an existing Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree to expand and enhance the knowledge and skills of the applicant in a specific clinical nursing major to manage the health and care of their patients.

FIU Graduate Nursing offers post-graduate certificate programs in the same clinical specialties as our Nurse Practitioner program tracks:

  • Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (Online program*)
  • Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (Hybrid Program)
  • Family Nurse Practitioner (Hybrid program)
  • Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (Online program*)
  • Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Hybrid program)**
  • Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (Hybrid Program)

*Students in the online tracks will be allowed to complete clinicals outside of our long-standing clinical areas of Monroe County, Dade, Broward and Palm Beach. However, it is the student’s responsibility to identify the clinical site and work with our clinical department to help establish a contract with the clinical partner BEFORE any clinical rotation can begin.

**Psychiatric Mental Health NP applicants start in the summer to complete Psychopharmacology before clinicals.
