I first became a registered nurse at Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Indianapolis. My husband worked for IBM, and they had moved us from Cincinnati to Miami. We were only there for three years, but that was long enough for me to get my degree. I later went to the University of Maryland in Baltimore to get a couple of degrees, and I ended up getting a PhD in August 1991. I worked in nursing in Miami.
