I wanted to attend a state university, and FIU was the closest thing to that. I was also working at the time and needed a school I could attend part-time. FIU appealed to me on that basis too. The school had a good reputation, and I went mostly online. I really wanted to do social work, but I didn't want to go in-depth like that. I thought about another way I could best help, so I chose nursing. I really love everything about it, such as teaching, mothering, and counseling. It has worked out well for me. When I have patients who I really help, it's so rewarding and uplifting to their lives. Attending FIU helped me grow because I was studying, working, and trying to find a balance. It was frustrating, but I had the chance to pursue my degree. My most rewarding moment was a project where I had to research the health systems in Cambodia and Singapore. I compared them to the United States, and it opened my mind.
