Florida International University was a public institution with very high standards of nursing practice. I had awesome professors, and it was a very pleasant experience from my undergraduate, all the way through graduate school. One of my professors inspired me from the time I was an undergraduate nurse to do my doctorate. She really made my education and clinical experience great. The staff made sure that we had significant clinical placements that were meaningful. We learned a lot at our clinical sites. FIU was a phenomenal school. My education facilitated personal growth through the level of professionalism I was exposed to. I knew what I needed to do in order to achieve in various aspects of my life. I got a well-rounded experience. It was a very family-focused environment, and I was able to attend school while being a single mother. I worked full-time, and I was supported and encouraged all the way through. My experience at FIU was all positive.
