FIU was kind enough to open the doors to an adult, immigrant student. I was 42 years old, and I was part of the third group of foreign physicians to transition into registered nurses in the United States in 2005. That opportunity opened so many doors, and I'm so grateful for that. I loved everything about FIU. I respected the professors so much, and they were very knowledgeable. FIU has a special place in my heart, and it was inspiring. When I did my bachelor's degree, there was a professor who had an impact on my life. She was an OBGYN, and she was an amazing, sweet, and knowledgeable human being. So many professors had a positive impact on my life, and I'm very thankful for them. My best advice to a new student is to keep dreaming. Dreams can come true, but they require sacrifice and determination.
