It was the only university around that was not a private institute and that offered a BSN. I thought that nursing was a very respectful and honorable profession, so that was what drove me to want to be a nurse. I still feel that way and am really blessed to be able to do this every day and help people in need. I feel very fortunate that I got to go to FIU Nursing. I feel blessed that I got two degrees from that institution. I learned a lot from all of the professors there and felt that they provided a very strong foundation of nursing in my bachelor's degree program. That was why I wanted to come back to get my master's degree. I could have gone anywhere, but I had a really good experience with the staff and faculty. I'm grateful I had the opportunity to be a part of the FIU Nursing alumni.
