I grew up in South Florida, and FIU had a wonderful reputation within the community. I knew of many FIU alumni who became successful. There were a lot of options for me, but I chose FIU because of its reputation and proximity to my home. I wanted to help patients and make them feel better - that was my passion. I had a good study group, and I enjoyed my time at the skills lab practicing on fake patients. I also enjoyed my time with the preceptors, going to the hospitals, applying the knowledge I gained in school, and practicing in the real world. I think clinical knowledge was the number one thing I learned. FIU makes sure that only the people who study and learn the concepts make it to graduation. The rigorous curriculum is what sets FIU apart.
