I came from a long lineage of Panthers. When I was looking at different schools to go to, FIU immediately came to my mind because of my family's connection to it. Once I actually did some more research into the program, I fell in love with how the academic advisors were so kind and helpful. I valued the fact that they were looking out for my best interests before I even enrolled, and that made it feel like a family before I joined the program. I decided to study nursing because I wanted to do something in the medical field. I felt drawn to the field of nursing because of the compassion and care that nurses offer to patients. Nurses are the heart of healthcare. I served as the president of the Student Nursing Association for my class, through which I was able to create really good relationships with a lot of different professors. My instructors were and are great mentors to me. I'm completing my master's degree at FIU right now, and one of my professors continues to be an excellent mentor to me. I can only say great things about the professors at FIU. I liked how the cohorts in the Nursing Program were so small that I was able to form lasting relationships and connections with many of the people I went to school with. My education at FIU prepared me well for everything that I've encountered thus far.
