Catherine Elizabeth Budd (Crowley), APRN

BSN '94; MSN '97

I lived in the Keys, and FIU was the most accessible and reasonably priced. I was glad to finally get going on my education as I was 40 years old when I went back to school. I was the oldest person living in the dormitory. I went straight through, and I worked full-time. My clinical rotations were exceptional, and they helped me step into the role with a good foundation. Kathy Blais was involved with my undergraduate and graduate programs, and I have fond memories of the faculty. There were a lot of us in the program who were more mature students. We bonded, and I still keep in touch with one of my classmates. I got a post-master's degree and a nurse practitioner certificate at George Washington University in 2006.
