Christian Alfaro

I had always liked pediatrics and life sciences. I knew I wanted to become a nurse and work specifically in a pediatric unit. I was born and raised in Miami, and I come from a Cuban family. FIU Nursing has always been a well-respected institution in our community. Being a nurse is a really honorable profession. I have always liked helping people and making a difference in their lives. The professors at FIU Nursing were very supportive. The leadership was great, and the dean was excellent. I am proud of how far I have come and the goals I have achieved.
