Having my two children pushed me towards nursing. Professor Carmen Caicedo had a major influence on me during my time at FIU Nursing. She was the preceptor for my final semester and encouraged me to submit a journal article. I'm now a published author. I wrote an article in 'Nursing 2022.' I appreciated the flexibility of the scheduling at FIU Nursing. I was able to pursue a degree while working full-time and being a mom. My degree gave me an opportunity for professional growth while still doing what was important. I was able to manage my time the way that I wanted to at FIU Nursing.
