Christine "Chris" Bethea

I did my undergraduate work in Tallahassee, Florida at the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. I worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs in Miami, Florida prior to deciding to attend graduate school. I was quite familiar with that area. I ended up being in class with some of my colleagues from the VA, which was quite exciting. I was able to work with them in the clinical areas and attend classes at FIU on the master's level which was exciting. I had always had a love for mental health, and I had worked in mental health as a licensed practical nurse in several facilities. It was not just my job, but a calling. It was rewarding, and I knew that it was the right fit for me. I had an opportunity to primarily treat severely and persistently mentally ill clients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
