Colleen Natalie Stephens

I wanted something that would give me satisfaction in helping others. Doing that would bring meaning to my life. I wanted to make a decent salary in a flexible career. I found FIU Nursing, and the teachers were of a high caliber. It was an environment where I could grow on various levels. I met a teacher who influenced and mentored me. She exposed me to graduate school and put me on a research team. She showed me the possibility of thinking about a profession in academia.
