I was recommended Florida International University by two students who were enrolled in the same program I was interested in. I was looking for the best school to start my nursing degree and MSN, so I decided to attend because I knew FIU was a great school. I had a few inspiring instructors in my BSN program, especially for Medical Surgery and Fundamentals of Nursing. When I started my BSN in 2015 it was really hard because I was from a Latin country. There was a language barrier, so I had to practice my communication, which was a great experience. I was surprised by the different resources FIU had for students. My psychiatrist clinical rotation was quite the experience. I got to do a simulation where I heard voices in the same way a schizophrenic patient would. I'm now working as a nursing instructor, and I talk to my students about that experience. My time at FIU was great.
