Dr. Kristina Artiles (Silverio)

BSN '13

I went to FIU for my first two years, and while I was completing my first two years, I knew there was no other place I wanted to go. I wanted to continue my journey with FIU and finish what I started. Nursing was a field that could make someone independent as soon as possible. The versatility of the career and everything I could do in it was exciting. There were several professors who stood out to me as being impactful and meaningful. One of my first instructors taught fundamentals, and she was the one who pinned me during the pinning ceremony. Professor Galindo was wonderful, and Dr. Hamilton was really passionate about her career. I ended up working at the STAR Center while I was in nursing school, and I made a career out of it. Being enrolled at FIU Nursing changed the trajectory of my life, and I loved all of the amazing memories and friendships I had. I'm proud to be a Panther, and I'm proud to say I'm an FIU graduate. The quality of education we got was fantastic.
