When I graduated from my first degree program, I always knew I was going to go back and get a bachelor's degree. They made it convenient because I was working at a hospital called Golden Isle Hospital, which was in Hallandale, Florida, and I could commute. The faculty and classmates were very helpful. They had some off-campus courses, which was pretty novel at that time, up in Hollywood. I lived up there, so I took a couple of courses in Hollywood. Our grades were pass or fail, and when I left to go to graduate school at the University of Washington they had to call back to see what grade I might have gotten. When I see FIU Nursing, I'm always really proud.
