I have always been a passionate person and have been a nurse for many years. Being able to take care of patients is the number one priority in my life. FIU Nursing was one of the top nursing schools in America, and I wanted to complete my degrees at one of the highest-ranked universities. In comparison with other colleges, FIU Nursing had higher standards for students and expected a lot more from them. That's why the FIU Nursing students were by far more successful than graduates from other colleges, in my humble opinion. I wanted to learn from excellent professors and faculty members. Students learned how to passionately give and care and not only think about themselves. My greatest takeaway was working side by side with the greatest faculty. Not only did I learn about the ups and downs of nursing, but I also learned about humanity. I learned about cultures and how to understand patients. I advanced my education and career to the highest level. The more I learned and got myself educated, the more I realized I was behind in my knowledge because there was much more to learn. I completed my terminal degree in the field of nursing and truly admire and love what I'm doing now. I teach nurses how to become excellent surgical nurses and am a surgical nurse myself. For me to give back what I collected and received from my great leaders is an honor. It satisfies my passionate desire to give. I started my education in 2002, and I loved FIU Nursing so much that I took classes back to back every year until 2013. The environment was so charming and appealing that I did not want to leave. It was mostly because of how the people there treated students; they heard and understood us. I am looking forward to going back to FIU Nursing at some point to join the nursing faculty and give back what I took from them.
