Edalma Corniel

I came from the Dominican Republic, and Florida International University was very impactful for me. I now work as a medical assistant, and FIU gave me that opportunity. I got my bachelor's in nursing from FIU. I was in a group with many other international students. There were students from Syria, Cuba, and Brazil. I experienced different cultures. I received an academic award in 2003. I did research on children with autism. The professor who helped me with that research was very supportive. Since graduating from FIU, I have recommended it to many friends and family members because it is a great university.
