I was researching nursing schools in South Florida, and I heard great things about FIU and its Nursing Program. I knew that, compared to others, it was more cost-effective. I really liked the Simulation Center, where we had the opportunity to practice. That was very beneficial, especially because it was 2020 and COVID-19 was happening. In the end, we couldn't go to hospitals to complete our practicums, but we did have the opportunity to work with the Simulation Center. That experience was like real-world experience. FIU also had a program with Memorial Hospital where we were able to participate in the specialties that we wanted, which was really beneficial to me. I really enjoyed that clinical. I had a good experience with all of the professors. I liked that they always shared their real-world experiences in the nursing career field. All of those experiences really did show that this was the right school for me. There were many opportunities given to us to grow through assignments and projects. The main thing was the Simulation Center. That experience was the one in which we felt like we were real-world nurses. It helped me grow as a nurse because we had to make healthcare decisions with the mannequin. We had no fear or judgment; we knew that if we did make a mistake, it was a learning opportunity for us. That education provided me with a solid foundation to build up my career as a nurse. I'm applying everything that I learned in the school to my career as a nurse. I was very much prepared to take the board exam. The exams that the professors gave us were even harder than the board exams, which was good. I could become a nurse and excel as a nurse. I'm proud to be an FIU alumna. I would recommend this school to others because it provided real-world experience in the field of nursing and prepared me to be a nurse. It was a worthwhile experience, and I'll always be grateful for how they gave me a good nursing foundation.
