Florine J. Stacks

I chose FIU Nursing because some of my fellow nurses had gone there before me and recommended it. I was originally only enrolled in an associates degree program, but when FIU came along I was able to afford it and went back for my bachelor's. Nursing is a passion of mine and I started my journey as an LPN. When I first moved to Florida, I enrolled in the Lindsey Hopkins education center program close to the high school I lived in. I then went to Miami and FIU for my RN. I am grateful for the atmosphere at F.I.U. and the great instructors. Everyone was so helpful with the business side of things, like getting loans. I was an adult with a child when I started my journey as an RN, which was both challenging and rewarding.
