I was inspired to attend FIU Nursing because of the reputation of the school. I started at FIU Nursing as an older nurse. I went into nursing in 1997 when I was fresh out of high school. I was quickly introduced to healthcare during my high school years because I was a candy striper. My goal was to help people when I was originally introduced to nursing. I chose FIU because the institution had a child healthcare track for our master's program. The biggest takeaway from my time at FIU Nursing was the bond we forged as a class. I now work side-by-side with one of my classmates from 2014, which is incredible for me. The friendship and bond we forged as classmates have been amazing. The legacy that FIU Nursing leaves in the community is why FIU Nursing excels overall.
