My mother always said that I was a caregiver, even from the time I was a child. When I was around 11 years old, my brother passed away, and that got me interested in the medical profession. I had my nursing diploma, and I was already working as a registered nurse, but I wanted to advance in my career. I chose to attend FIU Nursing because it seemed to fit into my schedule. As a result of my getting my bachelor's degree, I was promoted to supervisor. I went on to work as a director of nursing later on in my career. Attending FIU Nursing was an exciting time for me.
