One of the greatest things I learned at FIU was how to manage my work-life balance. During my time as a student at FIU, I was a nurse representative for the student government. Being in those meetings helped me see how things were run. I got to go on a trip to Puerto Rico, and I liked meeting other people from other campuses and schools. I saw like-minded people and people with goals and ambitions to make the school better. I had a good experience at FIU, and I worked at the University Center as one of the office managers. My advice to new nursing students is to make sure that nursing is their passion. As a nurse, I've worked in pediatrics. I've formed bonds with the families, and it goes deep. Nursing isn't something we do to make ends meet, it's where we can be great advocates.
