I was an LPN before I became an RN, and I worked with a lot of nurses and doctors who had graduated from FIU. I always looked at the school as a place of esteem that would be a great place at which I could get an education. I always wanted to help people. I worked full-time as an RN while I was in school. I loved being in the heart of Miami and knowing that I was attending school with so many great professionals. I had a great time visiting the campus and felt really proud to be a student at FIU. I got to learn more about myself while gaining a better understanding of what I wanted. I was able to hone my leadership skills, which was a huge benefit for me going forward. Getting my degree was a moment of great accomplishment for me. I put in the hard work and got to see the fruits of my labor in the end.
