I was doing my undergraduate at FIU and was really impressed by and excited about applying to the Nursing Program. A large number of my professors, if not all of them, impacted me in their own special ways. My clinical professors, Yvonne Parchment and Arturo Gonzales, really had an impact. All of my professors were willing to help and answer any questions. They gave us as much advice and wisdom as they could. They all really wanted us all to succeed and do our best. The cohorts were pretty small, so having those two years to grow together and go to different events together was really special. There were different fundraisers for the Student Nurse Association, and we had a booth at the Relay for Life. We would have picnics as well to raise money for our class. We would have group chats as a class and discuss what our goals were and what we wanted to do. I didn't have a lot of time apart from studying and working to take on some of those responsibilities, but it was interesting to watch. It was nice to gather outside of the classroom, and it gave us all a chance to communicate and talk on a lighter level. Graduation was really nice. We got to see all the students in our caps and gowns and sit together as a class.
