I've always been compassionate and caring in nature. I've always been like the mother of my friend group. I've always carried hand sanitizer and bandages wherever I go, just in case someone were to get hurt. I naturally had the affinity to go out and help, but the moment that solidified as a career for me was when my grandma had a stroke in the Philippines. We flew over to help take care of her, and it turned out that the people on that side of the family were all nurses. Nursing was in my blood. I heard about the program at FIU, and I thought that it was good. It was the only nursing school I ever applied to. My FIU experience in general was amazing. The program was challenging in a good way because it helped push us to be well-rounded nurses. I bleed blue and gold.
