I knew Florida International University was a great institution, and most of my friends went there. Hearing their stories let me know that the school was a great place, and I fell in love with it. Every time I went to see a counselor or someone in the administrative office, they were all kind and helpful. I have children, and I loved taking care of them. I love kids, and I had an interest in medicine, so pediatric nursing was the ideal field for me. I became a mom in 2012, and I had a boy that I always took care of. I always felt drawn to taking care of kids, so I enrolled in nursing. All of my professors were involved and helpful from day one, and I have the best memories of their lectures. It was so fun to go to a clinical site and experience everything there after a lecture. They always made sure we were safe, and it was a fun experience. We went to see the patients in the hospital rooms, and they brought us in as students to see all the medical processes. I always had fun, and I made many friends whom I'm still in contact with. The school had top-notch facilities, and my experience was outstanding. I was working, so the two-year program took me a little bit longer. I'm grateful to have been a part of FIU's Nursing Program. It was a competitive environment, and I put all of my experience into volunteering to make sure I represented my school. I'm grateful that I had the chance to be heard and accepted. It was an intense program full of classes and trips to clinical sites, and I still had to take care of my family. I had to learn how to manage my time and prioritize what was necessary, which was a useful skill I learned at FIU. I'm grateful for it because I can now manage it all without getting stressed out.
